I am back to crocheting (and enjoying it) after a hiatus. I felt compelled to slow down, and something clicked and I felt like crocheting again. After a couple of months of just consuming things, I needed to turn my brain off and create something.
I usually watch episodes of Come Dine With Me or true crime podcasts / video essays while crocheting (I've been watching a channel called 'Dire Trip -- yikes the world is filled with strangeeeee people) . I can't watch anything that requires me to pay too much attention to it/ read subtitles. It's fun. A simple pleasure. I missed it.
To get back in the groove, I picked small projects.
The first is a cute pouch to keep my film club tickets. I love how it turned out! I used three colours of yarn and finally got a chance to use one of the star buttons I got last year.

The second thing I made is this book sleeve/ envelope. It's for a friend since her birthday is tomorrow and I had promised to make her one of these months ago. That reminds me, I need to stop promising people free crochet projects LMFAO!!
I think it makes for a lovely birthday present. I even asked her what colours she likes, and stuck to that theme. I really hope she likes it and uses it.

A large green wooden button was the perfect touch to finish off the project. I debated using a red one instead (since she loves purple, green, and red) but it ended up looking garish.
I need to crochet my mom a lily of the valley keychain next. I tried yesterday but it was too fiddly, especially because I have long acrylic nails right now.
Excited to see what else I crochet this year. I also need to doodle/ take more photos. It's been far too long.
