my first amigurumi

When I started crocheting I decided I would NEVER make an amigurumi... too many people doing it, too cutesy. I wanted to focus on wearables and home decor stuff instead.

In the word's of the great Justin Bieber... Never Say Never

My friend is OBSESSED with Pokémon and it's their birthday. So obviously, I had to crochet them a Poké Ball!! Duh!!

I used this pattern: https://craftingformysanity.com/free-pokeball-key-chain-crochet-pattern/ IMG_2930.jpeg

When it comes to amigurumis... I was mainly overwhelmed by the thought of all the counting and math required. Turns out, the math involved in making a circular bucket hat is much trickier than a small ami. (I am struggling immensely to finish a bucket hat commission at this point. This small project was a GREAT distraction.)

I see why people love making these now. It was sooo satisfying and quick. Single crochets are so easy and smooth it feels illegal!!

I also got a chance to use up all the yarn scraps I had been collecting for like 2 years as the stuffing for this. The final product is a LITTLE wonky (I think the red yarn I used was a little too thick) but its cute!

I added a little keyring to it so now they can use it as a bag charm.
