Week Note 1

First time writing a week note. Don't know how this differs from a journal entry. I guess in the sense that it is 'supposed' to be more a description of events of the week as opposed to an amorphous spewing of the general vibe and emotional undercurrent of things.

This is quite hard for me as I'm generally floating through life, watching from a distance -- not really registering much, especially sequentially.

I have been attempting to do this in my physical journal -- what's the harm in trying. Google photos helped a lot in remembering things chronologically.

28th Dec 2025:

I've recently started a film club with some folks -- it's called Cinema Next Door. On Sunday, we had a screening of Comrades: Almost a Love Story (1996; Peter Chan) I was severely hungover from the previous day, but I managed to make it. I quite enjoyed the film -- I love me some yearning.. Certain parts didn't do it for me but the overall feeling was good. IMG_1773.jpeg IMG_1775.jpeg

Oooh we've also recently started doing these adorable printed tickets, which I'm saving. I love them <3

29th Dec 2025:

Exhaustion. Dazed feeling. Managed to watch a film though, 964 Pinnocchio (1991; Shozin Fukui) Very experimental, guerrilla filmmaking -- shaky camera, fucked up themes, LOADS of vomit (chunky). I had fun. IMG_1791.jpeg I particularly loved this pair of shoes one of the lead characters wore. I would kill for them.

30th Dec 2025:

Another screening at film club. We watched Back to the Future. I've seen it before twice -- I'm not too fond of it. I think I like Ghostbusters a lot better (don't know if that's a fair comparison). I did go back home and listen to Year 3000 by Busted like 10 times in a row (FLUX CAPACITOR!!!!) Ooh and I love having an excuse to wear an 80s themed outfit. IMG_1807.jpeg

31st Dec 2025:

NYE BABYYYYY -_- I was feeling dead and tired -- but I had set up a meeting with Josh. Just to hang out at their place. We haven't spent one-on-one time together in a while and it was lovely. I missed them. We had some beer and watched a shitty movie -- Holidate (my second time). It was so fun to watch together. Ooh and we had cheese, crackers, and homemade mulberry jam (i ate the jam out of politeness... I did NOT like it!!!!) IMG_1836.jpeg IMG_1831.jpeg

1st Dec 2025:

DEADDDDD. Tired. Languishing in bed. Binge-watching films. I enjoyed the whole lot -- how satisfying! - Naseem (1995; Saeed Akhtar Mirza) -Desert Hearts (1985; Donna Deitch) ((SAPPHIC COWGIRL + ENGLISH PROFESSOR + MY MOM'S PLAYLIST OF CLASSIC COUNTRY SONGS -- A DELIGHT) - Surviving Desire (1992; Hal Hartly)

2nd Dec 2025:

The exhaustion continues, and so does the bedtime. I did step out to get my nails done and ran into some very cute dogs. Started crocheting a Shrek hairband for our screening!!!!! Also watched another film -- Gemini (1999; Shinya Tsukamoto) I enjoy his work. IMG_1845.jpeg IMG_1848.jpeg

I'm still pooped, exhausted, barely there. Sleep has been terrible. Tried going to bed around 10:30 PM thrice this week -- took my meds and everything -- but I always seem to wake up with a sweaty nightmare around 2AM. What an inconvenience! Hope I can conjure the strength to survive the week ahead. Or better yet, consciously set aside time to rest and actually do it.
